Pathak, Anamika

Pathak, Anamika is the Curator, Decorative arts and Textiles, at the National Museum in New Delhi, where she has worked for over three decades. She is a recognized expert and scholar in museology, decorative arts and textiles and archaeology.

A student of ancient Indian history and Buddhist studies she participates actively in seminars, lectures and talks and has mounted several exhibitions at the National Museum and overseas.

She is a prolific writer and researcher and has been widely published in various national and international research journals on textiles, arts and museology including Marg, Arts of Asia, Prague Museum Bulletin, National Museum Bulletin, Kala, Purattava and others. She has contributed towards a number of catalogues including Alamkar, Singapore; Islamic arts of India, Malaysia; Buddhist art of India, Korea; Divine and Mortal, Russia among others. She has collaborated on numerous research projects including one with the Nehru Trust, New Delhi and the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, entitled, ‘ Painting on Ivory’
She is the author of ‘Pashmina’ and ‘Indian Costumes’, published by Roli Books, New Delhi.
