Kiran, an organization for women’s empowerment, is based in Pattan and Sopore, Baramulla District, Kashmir and works with ari and crewel embroidery women in Sari Warpura and other villages in the area.

Kiran provides skill training in embroidery, design, product development, management and marketing through workshops and field visits.

Range of products – garments, shawls, stoles and scarves in wool, tweed and tussar silk, embroidered with traditional Kashmiri ari hooked chain stitch combining new motifs, designs and colors.

Through their work Kiran aim to help the women of Kashmir, devastated by conflict and loss to find new hope and beginning.
