Mutilation

“Mutilation” refers to the act of cutting out or excising a part of a thing, especially a book or other document; to change or destroy part of the content or meaning, according to the Oxford English Dictionary.  The protection against mutilation is one attribute of the author’s moral rights, according to Article 6bis of the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works (1971).
