Musical Instruments and Sound Objects of Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh, located in central India. The state is home to a variety of musical instruments, including the flute, dholchikara, parang drum, ghera, pawli, pungi, khirkhira, dhankul and kingri. These instruments are made from materials such as wood, bamboo, metal, leather and gourds, and are crafted using tools such as saws, chisels, Knives and hammers. Each instrument has its own unique sound and is an integral part of Madhya Pradesh’s musical heritage. These instruments continue to play a significant role in the state’s cultural identity and are still used in traditional music and dances.
