Polle Unnoyn Prokolpo (PUP) was founded in 1986 as a local initiative to alleviate poverty and empower destitute women in the rural communities. It provides job opportunities for the women by training them with different skills and by providing them with marketing facilities in rural enterprises to promote and uplift their social-economic situation. PUP supports the women by implementing different programs in literacy, education, healthcare, water & sanitation, legal rights, gender, credit and training. At present it is providing regular work for 250 women by marketing their products locally and abroad, and employs upto 530 women at times.
