Delhi Craft Council is part of a movement towards revitalization and promotion of traditonal Indian crafts. A registered, voluntary, non-profit organisation it was founded in 1967 by the late Smt. Kamaladevi Chattopadhyay. It is affiliated to Crafts Council of India in Chennai and is part of a larger network of Regional Councils. Broadly, the Council concerns itself with securing a better life for traditional craftspersons by preserving and promoting their hand skills.
