Basha is an Indian non-governmental organization involved in the preservation of tribal culture through study, documentation and publication in the fields of languages, literature, history, philosophy, customs, arts and crafts. It is also engaged in supporting economic and social welfare of tribal people and is active for the protection of their human rights. It aims to create awareness and understanding both among the various tribal communities themselves and between tribals and non-tribals. Bhasha, the Sanskrit work for speech, stands not only for language but also for raising the voice for the tribals. Besides that Bhasha wants to encourage tribals to express themselves.
