A.S.P. Govt. Museum and Research Institute, also known as the Andhra Sahtya Parishad Government Museum and Research Institute, is situated in Kakinada, in the state of Andhra Pradesh and is an archaeological museum. Located in East Godavari District in Andhra Pradesh, Kakinada is a young city in comparison to the major cities of the state. It grew into prominence after the foray of European settlers, especially the British, who made Kakinada their administrative headquarters. The Andhra Sahtya Parishad Government Museum and Research Institute is under the aegis of the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Andhra Pradesh and visitors from all over the world visit this museum which is rich in exhibits such as palm leaf manuscripts, sculptures, paintings and excavated materials.
