Embroidery

Embroidery, or the art of embellishment of fabrics by means of needle worked stitches. With raised designs and an extensive variety of stitches and materials including threads of silk, cotton, gold or silver upon the surface of woven cloth.

Embellishment or ornamental designs on a textile; done by using a needle to work stitches on to its surface. A variety of different types of stitches are used to create different decorative effects. Materials such as beads, sequins, mirrors, shells and jewels are also often attached to surface using needle and thread for embellishment.
