The druggets are graded in quality depending on the shade of the ground that they are intended to cover: the lighter the ground, the higher the required quality. Both patterned and plain druggets are produced in a wide range of colours. Practitioners of this craft are also found in Delhi. In the process of weaving a patterned drugget, one colour is woven to the required width, after which it is interlocked with the second colour and then interlocked again without an extra weft. As a result, there is no ‘wrong side’ to the woven drugget.
