Silver ware is an extended craft adapted by the Janjid community because of their ability to model three dimensional products. Some of these items cater to religious and ritual requirements therefore articles such as temple idols, ritual lamps and lota / water container are crafted. While most of the articles are made as per the demand, silver coins and small boxes are made for sale during Diwali. Cups and bowls are also made from silver.
Large slabs of silver, known as siti, are acquired from local market. These slabs are either converted into sheets or melted and recast into a particular form depending on the product to be made. Silver is also used by the Rabari community in their jewellery. Ornamentation such as Hansli /torque, anklets, earrings and waistbands are made in silver by the Janjid community.
Tools such as dies, hammer, pliers, buffing machine, mould, files and tools for embossing are used for the crafting process.
