Pakko derived from pakka means strong, durable and dense. This embroidery is known for its sturdiness and longevity and is practiced by Sodha Rajput and Meghwal communities in Gujarat. Primarily floral motifs are stitched with the use of chain stitch and buttonhole stitch and are complemented with satin stitch and fly stitch. Black satin stitch is often used for the outlining purpose. The motifs are arranged in a symmetrical pattern. Motifs such as peacocks, parrots, elephants and scorpions are stylized and used with sharp angular edges. Mirrors/ abhala are used in abundance with the stitches.
