The art of making brass lamps for temples is practiced in the tiny village of Makavarampalem in Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. Although the chief occupation of the residents is cultivation, there is however one family that practices the art of making unique brass lamps which are used in temples. Historically there seems to be no documentation of this craft so far.
